Screen printing 101! This contemporary and edgy art form is the process of transferring a stencilled design onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and a squeegee. In 'Screen Printing 101', paper will be used as the screen-printed surface. Explore your creativity by first creating a stencil on a fine mesh screen, and then by pushing paint through to create an imprint of your design on the paper beneath.
All you need is a little adventurous spirit and we'll teach you the fundamentals. In this 2 hour workshop, we'll get to grips with this edgy art form and produce 3 prints from your original artwork, or using a studio template. We'll cover;
How to use a mesh screen and how to DIY your own
Choosing a good design
Inking your screen
Creating an image in the negative
You'll take home 3 original frame-able prints
This workshop is $35pp, includes all your supplies and runs from 7 - 9pm.
